JAPANESE I tried this technique at classes at a local craft shop. Although I call this Japanese, it is not as delicate and fine as the real thing. The fish picture is stitched using silk thread for the fish and wool for the seaweed. The bird is stitched in satin stitch, using silk thread. The background is painted. This is not one of my favourites. I think in hindsight I should have used the heavier satin stitch on the leading edge of the wings, instead of the back. |
